Clean and pristine, it's number 15 on the Seventeen survey this week. Compare to American Bandstand's version of this song here; ua-cam.com/video/9zSJHKMYDXQ/v-deo.html They might dance better in Philly, but there's more room for the cameramen to operate in Ames, and it shows in the quality of the production.

This video took place at the local ABC affiliate in Des Moines Iowa. That channel 5 and the state of iowa in the background .. interesting it’s all white kids but than again this was a local teen show in Des Moines , Iowa .

No racism intended, but what is with the stiff, sad white strollers? How can a Black musical artist be King of the Stroll, without any Black dancers to his music? I guess it must be segregation. I just saw a video of a film scene with Black youth back in the day doing a similar stroll-like dance, it looked great, creative, joyful and fun.

Yes I’m 79 and I appeared on there in July of 1958. My boyfriend and I won a dance contest on there, would love to find those tapes to view. My children, grandchildren would love to watch it!! Does anyone have access to these old tapes???? Who do I contact to find out??? Sheri Pelz
Look how innocent they are. I am of that generation. Very Very few of the girls had sex then. Of course, "The Pill" was not around yet.
